Men are you annoyed with hearing about how flat your stomach once was and how you can barely see your feet underneath it? If so, I want to let you know that all that can change. I can show you how to get rid of your beer belly, and what’s better, without giving up the beer! But let’s first discuss what a beer belly really is and what causes it.

Let us first define what a beer belly is. By definition, a beer belly is an area of fat that is positioned between your chest and your waist, or what used to be your waist. Now, is it cause by beer? The surprising answer is no. Science has proven that beer bellies are caused by calories that haven’t been burned up by your body that get deposited to that section of your body. Why is it deposited there? Men are genetically dispositioned to deposit the greatest amount of their fat in their stomach area.

Okay, now that we’ve discussed where that belly comes from, (probably those mashed potatoes you like to eat) we can now discuss what you can do to get rid of it. You should start by working on those fat cells that are spreading across your stomach. While I have already stated that beer is not the cause, it can contribute to your rotund stomach. Alcohol can make you hungrier (remember beer and pizza with the guys on Sunday night?). But if you stopped drinkg as much, you’d probably stop eating as much which would be one step on your journey to flat abs.

Lose the beer and you can also lose that increased appetite. But this article isn’t about getting rid of the beer; it’s about getting rid of the belly, so I won’t tell you to stop drinking. You could also exercise and burn more calories than the amount of calories you take in from drinking beer. But exercise too may sound like a lot of hard work. So for the purposes of this article, we will focus on the best beers for your belly!

So the first thing that comes to your mind when I say low calories is all those light beers that taste likewell you know, but How to Get Rid of the Beer Belly without Giving Up Beer is for real men who would never think of ordering one of “them there sissy light beers.”

First on the list is a nice and dark Guiness Draught, with 125 calories and 10 carbohydrates; this is no light beer but it is low on calories and you don’t have to drink tons of them to make up for a lack in taste. Second on the list is Beamish Irish Stout, with 131 calories and it’s still full of flavor all while making your waist happy. Third on the list is Busch, with 133 calories and about 10 carbohydrates. So drink responsibly and get rid of that belly!

Now you know How to Get Rid of the Beer Belly without Giving Up Beer. So the next time she tells you to get off the couch and lose some weight, go get yourself a cold Guinness, pop the tab and tell her your working on it right now!

The Best Way To Choose The Wrong Anti Aging Skin Care Products

30 10 2009

Anti aging products and skin care products is a massive industry. Millions or even billions of dollars are spent every year by women who are looking for anti aging skin care treatments that will keep their skin healthy and looking younger. And there are plenty of big companies in the anti aging and cosmetics industry just waiting to take advantage.

But that doesn’t mean that the products work well, and there are many big brand name anti-aging skin care products that do very little. There is no government regulation in the US requiring companies to demonstrate that their products work or that they even use safe ingredients.

As a result there are many anti aging skin care treatments available that don’t work, and contain suspect, or known to be dangerous ingredients.

But they sell in spades to cater to the desire of so many consumers to look younger, or at least to believe that they will look younger. And so there are hundreds of well known brand name products that promise all sorts of anti aging benefits everywhere you look.

So how do you navigate through all the hype and choose a range of anti aging skin care treatments that actually work, and don’t contain dangerous ingredients?

Here’s how not to choose a good anti aging product.

1. Don’t buy skin care and anti aging products with fragrances. Now we all like to smell good, and the big companies know that so use fragrances. Look younger and smell good at the same time.

There’s 2 problems. Firstly you won’t look younger because chances are the skin cream won’t make you look younger, though you may feel good about having used it.

Secondly, fragrances are not good chemicals to put on your skin. Because that’s what they are, chemicals that smell good, and many of them aren’t that good for you. It’s the same with perfumes, for example, but if you apply a perfume it’s only a small squirt on one spot, it’s not massaged all over your face where it disappears, into your blood. So just use a perfume instead.

2. Resist buying anti-aging skin care products containing collagen. But surely everyone knows that as we age our skin loses collagen and so starts to sag and wrinkle and form lines, so we need to replace that collagen.

Not necessarily. Yes it’s good to replenish the collagen, however collagen molecules are quite large and don’t really enter the skin. So rubbing it on might make you feel good, but doesn’t really add to the levels of collagen in your skin.

The best way to improve the collagen levels in your skin is to stimulate the body to produce more collagen itself.

However remember, the big cosmetics and anti aging companies are in the business of selling their products. If they put collagen on the label people buy it. And if they put it in a fancy bottle and get a good looking celebrity to say how much younger they look using it, then it will sell.

Even if it’s got dangerous ingredients in it like fragrances and doesn’t do all that much it still sells fast.

That’s how these companies make so much money.

But all this fancy TV advertising costs a bomb, and the celebrity needs her huge cut.

So even though that anti aging treatment doesn’t do much, other than make you smell better, it costs a bomb. And people assume if it costs that much it has to work.

So there is 2 things to avoid when looking for a good anti aging skin care treatment. There’s more but this is getting long.

Does all this mean that you should give up on anti aging creams and products because they don’t work? Not at all. There are excellent anti aging products that work fine, produced from ingredients from plants that are safe to use.

But these products aren’t made by the mainstream companies you would know now. They are made by small niche skincare companies that don’t advertise on TV. Because they don’t spend megabucks on TV advertising their products are competitively priced, and that ‘s also why you’ve probably never heard of these companies.

So don’t despair. I’ve given you some things to look for when buying an anti aging skin care product, and told you that there are excellent products available. Now it’s your turn to find them.

Your Guide to Finding The Best Insurance Coverage Policy at the Best Price

28 10 2009

It doesn’t matter if you are shopping for Auto, Home, Health, Life or Business insurance – if you don’t know the lingo you are liable to end up paying too much or getting the wrong coverage. Here’s a handy guide to some of the more important insurance terms to keep you on the right track.

General Terms:

Deductible – Deductibles are applied in auto, health and homeowners insurance to trim back the total cost of insurance, by your accepting some of the damages or disbursements prior to the insurance company paying for the balance. Usually you select the quantity of the deductible and the higher the quantity you select, the lower your premium.

Premium – This is merely the sum you or your company antes up to the insurance firm in exchange for their coverage and benefits rendered.

Property and Casualty – this describes a part of the insurance industry that covers damage to property or persons injured in an accident. Auto, home-owners and business liability insurance fall under this category.

Life and Health – This is the part of the insurance industry that covers life and health insurance as opposed to property and casualty.

Umbrella Insurance – This is wider insurance coverage than the original fundamental policy. For instance, a householder’s insurance policy that also admits a universal liability provision of $1,000,000 for personal lawsuits may be considered an umbrella policy.

Car Insurance:

Collision – Just as the name implies, this is the part of your auto insurance policy that pays for repairing damages to your car after the deductible.

Comprehensive – Comprehensive insurance covers the “non-collision” types of losses to your vehicle like fire, flood, vandalism or theft.

Liability – this is the part of your coverage that pays for damage done to a third party such as bodily injury, property damage or pain and suffering. Homeowners policies also typically have liability provisions to protect you against various types of personal injury lawsuits.

No-fault – About 50% of the states have “no fault” laws which require insurance companies to pay for damages to vehicles, property and person no matter who is at fault in the accident.

Medical Insurance:

Ancillary Care – Ancillary simply means “additional” or “related” or “extra”. It applies to policies that not only have basic coverage but have additional (ancillary) coverage for prescription drugs or eye care, for example.

Cobra – Cobra is a U.S. law that compels organizations to offer extended health-care insurance coverage to dismissed employees for a specified time period. This insurance coverage is generally paid for by the ex-employee but at group rates.

Co-payment – This is a health insurance term for how much you are required to pay for a visit to the doctor’s office, or for some other type of medical care. After your co-payment and deductibles the insurance company typically pays for the remainder of the bill.

Fee for Service – This is the type of health Insurance that allows you to select any Doctor and pays for some agreed percentage of “reasonable and customary” fees. You then end up paying the difference.

H,M.O. – “HMOs” are created to deliver complete health coverage for a predetermined fee. But, these organizations generally call for you to use their MD’s and hospitals thus restricting your selection.

P.P.O. – PPOs are networks of care providers who charge a fee for service that is discounted based on a negotiated amount with the insurance company. Insurers thus cover a larger portion of your expense when you use their “preferred providers.”

Life Insurance:

Annuity – Annuities are special types of policies that pay benefits while a person is alive for a specified period of time. They are sometimes connected to Life insurance policies.

Term Life – Term life is a form of insurance bought for a specified time (or term). If the insured dies during this time period, the insurance is paid. If not, the insurance coverage expires or must be renewed to keep the benefit.

Universal Life – A Life policy connected to an investment account and market rates. The benefits are not set but change based on the returns achieved.

Whole Life – A traditional life insurance policy that accumulates cash value over the life of the policy at a fixed rate and with pre-determined premiums. The insurance benefit is also a fixed and guaranteed amount.

Eat On Exam Day

27 10 2009

Healthy eating is probably the last thing on the minds of the more than 200,000 school students preparing for exams this month. But according to Australia’s leading nutrition organisation, eating the right food is one of the keys to exam success.

Clare Evangelista, Spokesperson for the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) said eating a balanced diet can help improve concentration.

‘What we eat has a big impact on mental performance, so we need to give our brain the right fuel to help it perform at its peak. Eating energy bars, lollies and chocolates will give students a short-term spike in energy, but this doesn’t last,’ said Ms Evangelista, an Accredited Practising Dietitian.

Clare has these top five tips for improving energy and concentration levels on exam day:

Eat breakfast – Stick with familiar foods and serve sizes on the morning of an exam as this is not the time to try anything new. Breakfast provides your brain with carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Try: – A bowl of cereal with reduced-fat milk, topped with chopped fruit and a sprinkle of almonds – Wholegrain or wholemeal toast with reduced-fat cheese and tomato, and a small fruit juice.

Eat regularly throughout the day – Eating energy-sustaining foods at meals and snacks will help to fuel the brain, maintain energy levels, and avoid dips in concentration. Try: – Sandwich, roll or wrap filled with salad vegetables, reduced-fat cheese, lean meat or tinned tuna – Fruit smoothies made with reduced-fat milk and/or yoghurt – Fruit (fresh, tinned or dried) or fruit and nut snack packs – Crackers with tomato and reduced-fat cheese, toast and spreads, fruit bread, cereal with reduced-fat milk.

Drink plenty of water – This will hydrate your body, help reduce fatigue and help your brain work. If possible, take a water bottle in to the exam with you.

Limit excess caffeine – Limit coffee, caffeinated soft drinks or guarana-containing drinks. Caffeine can act as a mild stimulant, boosting alertness and staving off fatigue, but too much can make you feel nervous and restless, and may affect how well you sleep.

Exercise – Schedule in some physical activity before or in between exams. Exercise can help reduce stress, clear your mind and improve sleep patterns.
